This marks our first Strawberry festival here in NJ. It was a great treat that I'm glad only comes once a year(PRICEY!)
The kid's had the time of their lives and this is Henrik's last year of elementary school so he informed me that some of his friends were asking girl's to "hang out" with them at the festival. I assured him that he will not be "hanging out" with any girl's at the festival other then his Mother and sister's! He was more then happy to oblige:) thankfully he has no interest in the opposite sex just yet. Maybe it's because his Mother keeps letting him know that "hanging out" with girl's will not occur in this house until he gets home from his mission.

The lucky lady who gets to carry all the prizes and left over food for Dad is MOM, of course:) And yes it's time for a new do!

March 8th marked the day that I gave birth to this little guy.
My life has changed drastically with this kid around!
He has added so much fun to our little family that half the time I just look at him and wonder where in the world did he come from?
He makes me laugh everyday:)

The cupcakes I made for him to take to school, then I read some fun little Sesame street stories from one of his favorite books.

I was so sick the week leading up to his birthday that I just broke down and got him an ice cream cake and put a toy on top.

This is the "Star bus." that comes every morning to take Harrison to school :)

Dr. Harman is having the time of his life. The fellow to the right (smily) is his co-resident and thank goodness he's a pretty cool guy. Working hand and hand with someone who you get along very well with makes all the difference in the world :)

These are all the Neurosurgical residents that James is with right now,(We're missing Ryan!) and as you can tell they're a pretty tight group.

A little while ago I made a post labeled baby number five and I freaked everyone out. HAHAHAHA.
Well this is no laughing matter but baby number five has passed away two weeks ago:(
I've been so depressed that this is the first time I've made mention of it.
I really miss my little guy, he has been with us for six years and has brought our little family much joy.
I love and miss Todo a great deal and I can't wait to be with him again:)

Henirk came home the other day with a letter that said his artwork is on display at the Millburn education center next to the high school. So I packed the kid's up and went to the center to discover his drawing displayed right up front. I was surprised!

How humbling it was to be sitting a few feet from an Apostle of the Lord and then to be able to go and shake his hand and then to watch him shake the hands of your children.
His message was to pray for Sister Monson she is just suffering from old age and a message of love,

We took a little family trip to Palmyra shortly after the pageant.

This year was different for us.
Even though the kids are at a new school they were seriously super excited,
I think they were so excited because we went and took a tour of the school before the first day and Henrik got to meet his teacher and Helena got to glance at her super cute classroom. I of course was thrilled at their awesome computer lab that was filled with rows of Mac's!
Needless to say the kids come home everyday and talk about all the new friends they're making.

We took our trip to New Jersey and lo and behold we signed on a house!
Okay people now I'm getting excited.
We will be living in the very "posh" Short Hills, near Millburn township, I'm seriously nervous - I hope they like us white trash types.
This darling little area is one block from the hospital and we have our own little recreation area that only caters to the Millburn "town folk." It includes a pool, roller rink, a golf course, playground, and sports fields.
The schools are rated number one in the state and our church building is 2 miles away and is the most darling building I've ever seen, pictures to come later.

This last week James got invited to attend a neurosurgery convention at the Cleavland Clinic. While he was there he got to visit his hero (some random guy in a grave.)
O.k. just joking he got to visit the grave sight of Harvey Cushing, Father of Neurosurgery. He was also told today by the chief at Grant hospital in Columbus that he would personally like to interview him before he leaves this Friday.

Over the weekend we were able to visit FAMILY! It's been way too long but boy was the wait worth it. The kid's got to see Grandma and Grandpa, their uncle Keith and aunt Hayley, and their cousins Reid and Malory.
Grandma and Grandpa spoiled us like usual and we had a blast visiting Mcdonald's,
the Akron zoo, and Chuckie Cheese.
Gosh, how we miss family and we are sooo looking forward to graduation to see them again.

Amen people! Being a single Mom for the past month has helped me to appreciate this day oh so much more. The first day of school.
It's a bitter sweet feeling, but primarily sweet!
I know they'll have a blast this year and they'll meet lots of friends, and they will get a break from their crazy Mother.
I also know that I'll miss them terribly and my house already feels empty with them gone.
This is the first time I actually have been able to sit down for a moment and just cry.

James is doing his away rotations in this darling little town called Normal, IL.
Yes the town is totally normal and totally cute. I wouldn't be to upset if we settled there. It's just two hours away from CHICAGO, so we packed up and took the trip of our lives, so much to do and so little time. We spent two days and we made sure we saw it all, the kid's were crying at the end of the day because their feet hurt (yes, we're aweful parents.) Regardless they had a blast!

Sunday we had a little going away party for the Rhodes.
We're not going to miss them at all!
She's always crying, the kids are so evil
and he's way too tall and is always super serious,
(totally annoying!)
I'm sure Duke accepted him because they felt sorry for him.
Anyways hit the road Rhodes and don't come back!

Today at the library they had these two female Paleontologists come and show off their stuff, they were so fun and Helena was so thrilled!
She got to show off some of her dinosaur sounds and then these ladies encouraged Helena to keep up the good work and to keep looking for fossils!
So we had one fun evening and I had one happy girl.

Trolley ride.

The other day our little play group went for a trolley ride around downtown, little did we know we weren't the only play group who had this wonderful idea.
We had another play group on the trolley with us and then a preschool got on as well!
It was a little crowded.
We ended up at the farmers market where we enjoyed a nice lunch.

Remember Mr. "let's start eating healthy?"
Well after church he came into the kitchen and asked
"what's for dinner?"
Trying to be a little healthy, I say:
baked chicken
potatoes, carrots, and onions in a little olive oil
and rolls.
After some Improvisations from Mr. healthy we had:
fried chicken
mashed potatoes
gravy
biscuits
cream corn
and watermelon.

I picked up a bag of this brand of popcorn thinking "oh, we'll give it a shot."
I'm glad we did, it is so so so so GOOD!
I would highly recommend it.

We were listening to music, getting ready for Sunday when Harrison grabbed Hanna's hand a said "let's dance." So hand and hand they spun in circles "dancing."

James came into the kitchen tonight and said some pretty nasty things to me, it was something like "we should think about eating healthy."
What? We're healthy, potatoes-yes, smashed with a cube and a half of butter and a cup of milk.
Veggies-sure, add some bacon grease to those green beans.
Eat meat sparingly-no prob., make mine medium rare loaded with mushrooms and blue cheese.
Dairy-never miss a day, top that sundae with peanuts, chocolate sauce, whip cream, and a cherry.
Fruit-can't get enough, "I'll take two dark chocolate covered strawberries, please."
This whole eating healthy thing should be a cinch!

I took Helena to the Doctor the other day to have him tell me that Helena is under weight.
Under weight? How can something under weight come from this gal?
I always knew she was long and lean like her Daddy, but underweight?
She's only gained 1&1/2lbs since December, yikes!
That is news I would like to hear but not good news for a growing girl.
So the Doc. perscribed weight gain medicine, now she can't stop eating!
We can't even look at her food without her threatening to take off one of our limbs.
So next time you see this girl, have snacks handy because she's as hungry as a bear!

This was the first baby shower I ever hosted. We had great games done by the YW, we had great food from Katie, Amy, Roz, and myself, then we had the perfect decorations done by Connie and last but not least Roz allowed us to invade her beautiful home. Thanks to all the great minds that made this shower a huge success!

So far we've been having a great spring! I remember when I use to see Doctors wearing their scrubs and thinking "Jerks, they're just trying to show off!" But now I know that James loves wearing his scrubs because they're so comfortable, he calls all other clothing his "civilian clothes."
